Moms are multi-taskers. When you have children your thrown into the arena of juggling multiple things at once. If you are looking to use those skills to earn money, then this is the post for you. The flexibility is what makes these jobs such an easy way to make money as a single mom. You can do them when the kids are in bed napping or at school. 

It’s 2020 and this day and age everyone should have multiple streams of income. I wanted to share with you some ways that you can make some cash if you’re a single mom.



Babysit Other People’s Children


Childcare this is something that is easy and flexible you can do with your own children. It’s like having a play date. You don’t have to leave your home they can bring their child or children to your home. It’s a nice thing to offer to parents that just need a few hours. You get to pick the days and times that you will be available

You can tell your family and friends that you are available to babysit. Single moms are always looking for babysitter’s for date night or when they want to go out with their girlfriends.

You can advertise on local mommy Facebook groups that you are available to watch children during the day, overnight or weekends. Third shift workers have a harder time finding someone to watch their children because some daycares are not open overnight.

Start A Blog


You could start your own blog. Blogging is a great flexible job because you can do it from anywhere. If you enjoy writing or experimenting with writing this would be a great side gig for you. With just a little bit of time invested you can write about whatever you want.

Starting a blog is easy, it does take time to build an audience and to have an income. You don’t start day one making money. With a little bit of time each day and determination a blog is a great side gig for moms. Some people turn their blogs into full time income.

Ways you can make money with a blog is you can partner up with affiliate companies or advertisers to monetize your blog, you can create courses or training or sell your products. If you have a hobby start a blog about it. A blog is like having a diary online. Take your passion for that hobby and turn it into an income. You could share your tips or steps on how to do things for your hobby.


Start A House Cleaning Business


Starting a house cleaning business is a great job. You can get started easily using your own cleaning products that you already own. No investment needed.

You can clean a house for someone in a few hours and make a great hourly rate. If you decide to do deep cleans then you can make significantly more money per hour.

Tell all your family and friends that you are available to clean their house and get free referrals. Most people either have used a house cleaner or know someone who does. You can also post on the Nextdoor app to advertise house cleaning. Print some flyers and take them to some houses in your neighborhood. You only need a few houses a month.

Plus, it’s a great physical work out, you get paid while exercising.

Become a Virtual Assistant


Virtual assistants handle a multitude of tasks. Offering any or all these services can be a very flexible job that you can do when it is convenient for you. Giving this time back to your client so they can focus on more important tasks.

  • Booking services:  maybe you have a background in accounting you could offer services to clients to handle a client’s bookkeeping.
  • Email Management: you can prioritize emails, unsubscribe to unnecessary emails, respond to emails.
  • Social media management: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest a VA can manage all the social media accounts. Engage with customers, put up posts on the client’s behalf.  
  • Research tasks: conduct research on behalf of a client. For example, maybe your client is looking to purchase an industrial size coffee maker, as the VA you would research to provide the client with which options are available that fit into their client’s needs.
  • Appointment management: contact clients or employees on behalf of their client to schedule appointments then log it into the client’s calendar.
  • Book travel: you would ensure their travel plans are all booked from hotel, car rental, flights all details and possibly create an itinerary.
  • Miscellaneous tasks: there are so many other things that a VA can handle for a client. Finding a doctor or dentist, plan a party, find a good babysitter.

Buy and flip cars

Guys do it all the time so why not you. You can buy a vehicle that has no mechanical issue for cheap clean it up and sell it for more money. It’s easy to do anyone can do it.

Resume Writing

You don’t have to have a degree in human resources or even have any experience. You have probably written your own resumes one or two times in your career. If you are not sure what format to use or what you should put on a resume there several online courses just do a quick google search or watch some YouTube video’s and learn how to write resumes.

You can advertise on Fiverr or Upwork. Just a few resumes a month could bring in some cash.

Once you figure out what will fit into your schedule to earn some money then you’ll be able to make that cash. Being a single mom sometimes you must get creative with things and making more money is no different.

The value of each of these options is you are able to set your own schedule and plan that income to be made when you can squeeze it in.

Times can be tough, and you have to be tougher.

Having multiple streams of income is a necessity not just for single moms.
